The value of care

Filmon and the Nahla beekeeping farm

Each of them has had an incredible story

(abitante di Camini - storia di Filmon)

The story of Filmon Tesfalem is the symbol of the Jungi Mundu model: transforming reception into opportunity. Having fled Eritrea in 2009, after years of harsh journeys through Sudan and Libya, Filmon arrived in Camini in 2013 with his wife Jordanos. In this Calabrian village, his agricultural expertise met a project of real integration: Filmon returned to cultivating the land in the social vegetable garden, becoming a guide for other beneficiaries and rebuilding, brick by brick, a home for his three children.

His dream of independence took the name Nahla (“bee”), an organic beekeeping farm that blends the honey tradition of Tigray with Calabrian blooms. Thanks to the support of the cooperative and solid technical training, Filmon moved from being a refugee to becoming an ethical entrepreneur, definitively escaping the logic of agricultural exploitation. Today, his honey is a product of excellence that speaks of citizenship and sustainability. Nahla is not just a business, but an ecosystem of redemption: Filmon has already begun to pass the trade on to other young people, proving that true reception is not welfare, but an investment capable of regenerating entire territories.
